To ensure modern and reliable broadcasting, Czech Television undertook a comprehensive renovation of its flagship HD1 broadcast van. This broadcast van is an important element in ensuring large international broadcasts. We participated in the project, which took place in a record time of two and a half months, as a key technology partner. Our goal was to breathe new life into the truck – from replacing outdated AV technology to renovating the ventilation system – so that the truck would meet the highest demands of contemporary television production and be ready for another decade of active service.
The main change was the replacement of the central video matrix with a distributed matrix based on Riedel Mediornet, a new Riedel communication system, as well as the replacement of monitors, basic infrastructure, main synchronization, and an upgrade of the VSM control system. We also installed a new Studer Vista mixing console.
