The mobile contribution project for Czech Television’s transmission technology was implemented between 2024 and 2025, with the aim of replacing the traditional transmission route, i.e. either an optical connection or a satellite DSNG connection.
The new technology enables connection not only to Czech Television buildings, but also to individual broadcast vehicles, and utilizes the capacity of 5G networks.
A key element of the installation is LiveU’s 5G encoder technology, which is complemented by Peplink 5G modems to provide return video and data links, for example for communication over 5G networks. AETA units are used as audio codecs. The installation is designed so that, in addition to 5G networks, it is possible to use fixed connectivity where available, and in places without mobile and fixed connectivity, it is also possible to use LEO satellite connections, e.g., using Starlink.
